...and then I read the part about Shia LaBouf playing Robin...now it smacks of horse shit.

Considering that the article is from the Sun I'd have to venture a guess that the whole of the article is horse shit.

nolan has said in the past that penguin was to comic bookie for what he wants these movies to be, and this is worse. he mentioned Phillip Seymour Hoffman as who he wants to play the penguin and he still refuses to use the character. given that, there is no way nolan would use robin in this movie.
Eddie Murphy as Riddler.....it seems forced, like the casting director and nolan are trying to go so far afield in hopes of finding what they did in ledger. i disagree with it, but i will happily chase down any internet rumor concerning it.

And thus it was spoken...

i;m not sniping your link here, chip, but the man offers nothing to refute the story/rumor. he just tries to allay our fears with a rational argument and stalling. Though i too think it's BS, we have nothing yet that proves either of us right, but i wish we did.

"Rest assured Bat-friends, there is nothing going on with the new Batman movie at this point and certainly nothing to do with Eddie Murphy, Shia LaBeouf or Rachel Weisz."

I read into that quote that due to his site he could be considered a Hollywood insider, at least as far as information would go. Due to this status he's more than capable of making some calls to people to fact check. I've also read quotes from both Nolan and Bale that stated that there is no way that they could see Robin being brought into the world that has been created. The Dark Knight left no indication as to who the next antagonist to Batman would be, unlike Batman Begins. After Batman Begins speculation was running wild with the question of "who will be the Joker?" Without the luxury of knowing who will be next, speculation as assigned The Riddler to the role, and now it's running it's course with casting rumors. On a personal note I feel pretty safe calling bullshit on the original article due to the fact that the next movie will have deal with bringing Batman back to a hero status in Gotham. Factor that with the introduction of a new villian, a sidekick, and a love interest/femme fatale, it just seems like the kind of thing that Schumacher would do, not Nolan.
