Woah.
I don't care how dumb this premise is. It is not any more dumb than the premise of all the stupid goddamn videogames. What I care about is this looks like it will have FUCKING AWESOME fight scenes.

Goddamnit, Spambot, you're missing the whole point. This is such an improvement over the original story. I get what you're saying about verisimilitude and honoring the original intent of the source material (think Wing Commander), but the some times the only way to continue a story is to reboot it. And this story was certainly getting stale.
