Anyone tried this site out yet? I found this Atlantic article about it, and though it in no way compels me to try what seems like an ego destroying trap of 4chan proportions, I still like the idea of a site that randomly selects a chat partner for you, and you can't apply any filters to the random selection.
After reading the article, though, I was left with the image of this service being like a shitty high school RPG and each Chatroulette interaction is the equivalent of your hero person talking with a random student, but most of them are dudes and one in ten is an erect cock.
Oh, yeah, and happy TWO THOUSAND posts and comments. I don't know how we made it this far without one Goatse or shitting dick nipple.

Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe
"Screenwipe is a television programme about television programmes; the cost, the surprising amount of work and bureaucracy involved, how programmes are selected for broadcast and (usually scathing) analysis of specific programmes and genres. Brooker often pays particular attention to more obscure channels on satellite, Freeview and cable, such as those dedicated to gambling, shopping, horoscopes and pornography. He explores the probable effects of television on society and how programmes can often create in the viewer feelings of inadequacy, depression, fear and anxiety. To balance things, one segment of each show is usually dedicated to positive reviews, with analysis on why the style and content are so absorbing."
In other words, the man excoriates stupid television and advertising. And if you had any doubts about the content, the guy has a book out called "Why Everything Is So Shit." Seriously, check him out.

Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra
Here's a video of a Japanese band playing in the style of American Jazz the theme from the Godfather, a movie about Italians, to a crowd of Spaniards.
I can't say much for the music because i am not a jazz fan, but i can say that it sounds good, and i can say that in this video we can watch the singularity from the past. It is a time window providing a look at the omnipresent, dispersed culture that will become increasingly the norm in the years to come. which is not to say that such never happens now, but increasingly layered reinterpretations and mash ups of disparate content will become much more common. And just wait until the porn industry gets involved. Anyways...
